Goal and Purpose The purpose of our project is to design and build a weight scale to be used by beekeepers to monitor the honey production of their beehives. The scale should be relatively easy to implement and require minimal hardware to maximize its accessibility for the average beekeeper. Our project is split into two… Continue reading Introduction to the Weigh Scale team

Week 7 (10/12)
Start working on our stuff now! We are designing our base platform and structural design of the beehives, getting more understanding of how the hx711 library works, and extending the wires soldered on the chip.
Week 6 (10/5)
We are having our info session today, just introduced our project and assigned tasks to all of us.
Week 5 (9/28)
A week from weigh-scale stuff, celebrating getting new members! 🙂
Week 4 (9/21)
Get some test code for HX711 chip on Github to test if our chip worked, but it didn’t even have any outputs. So I re-soldered the chip, and it ended up having some signals, but it is not the signal we want. We will deal with this problem next week.
Week 3 (9/14)
Parts have finally arrived, so we could solder male wires to our HX711 chip and solder the strain gauges to each other and on the chip as well. We are going to test if the chip works in Arduino or raspberry pi next week.
Week 2 (9/7)
We are still waiting for our parts to be delivered, so we are currently learning how to use python in raspberry pi and connect it with HX711.
